PSAT- We are not allowed in the building with students in a way that will allow us to test, so the Oct test is cancelled. We will try again in January for the session that they are allowing because of the pandemic. All 10th and 11th graders are automatically signed up for the test. We will be allowing 5 students per time slot.

We will be allowing 1 slot every 10 minutes.
Pictures will be held at 1500 Masthead NE. Enter through the West end of the parking lot and follow the directionals going Eastward. There will be staff directing traffic and students. Parents will not be allowed into the building. Students will be dropped off at the North cafeteria door and will be picked up on the East side of the Cafeteria. We are aiming to have each student in the building no longer than five minutes. To keep students and staff as safe as possible we are requiring all students to wear a mask and follow all directions for social distancing.
Free Flu Shot Clinic
Explore Academy, 5100 Masthead Dr. NE., will be hosting a drive through flu shot clinic on Wednesday, October 21st from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. This is courtesy of of Albertson’s Market Pharmacy. Please follow the directionals through the parking lot.
You will need a copy of your insurance card and a consent form filled out.

School Lunches:
The National School Lunch Program is being extended into the fall for all public schools. This means that school lunches are free at this time. Check the Howl each week for the link that provides the weekly lunch menu. These menus are posted a week in advance.

If you live too far from Explore we are told that APS and RRPS are also offering seamless meals as long as your child is between 1 and 18 years of age. Parents / guardians can contact the school closest to them.

HOWL-O-WEEN DAYS AT THE ZOO
The New Mexico BioPark Society welcomes visitors to Howl-O-Ween Days October 24, 25 and 31 at the ABQ BioPark Zoo.
Kids of all ages who come in costume will receive a seriously sweet sampler bag brought to you by our friends at After Hours Pediatrics.
Drive-Thru Trunk or Treat
Balloon Fiesta Park October 31, 2020 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Get ready for a Halloween favorite with a COVID-safe update! Trunk or Treat returns, but this time as a drive-thru. Cars will follow a route from booth to booth and candy will be available in a contactless manner. Join us for this family-friendly event for monsters of all ages! Entry fee is $2 per vehicle and must be purchased in advance.
Bernalillo County Housing Announcement
In an effort to assist residential renters who have experienced a reduction or loss of income as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Bernalillo County Housing through the CARES act has developed the COVID-19 Rental and Utility Assistance Program.
This program will provide eligible households with a one-time rental and utility subsidy up to $5,000 that will be sent directly to the household’s landlord/and or utility company.
