History of Explore Academy - Rio Rancho
The first Explore Academy opened its doors in August 2014 in Albuquerque, NM. Since that time, it has helped other areas use its proven model to provide an enriched, choice-based education for students in different parts of the state and the country.
Timeline
In August of 2022 the New Mexico Public Education Commission approved the opening of Explore Academy - Rio Rancho for the fall of 2023.

Explore Academy - Rio Rancho was unanimously approved by the PEC!
Thank you to all who
supported the Charter School Application. The Community Input Hearing on July 19th was standing room only with overflow seating in another room. All who spoke were in favor and shared heartfelt stories of the need for this charter school option.
New Home
The Explore Academy - Rio Rancho school board officially closed on the purchase of the school's new home at 6090 Zenith Ct.

LOTTERY INFORMATION
The lottery took place on March 6, 2023.
Emails with enrollment instructions for accepted students will be sent to families on or before April 14th. Enrollment will continue as long as seats are still available.
